Welcome to FindOfficer™. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of our mobile application and services. By accessing or using FindOfficer, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
Please read these Terms carefully before using our services. If you do not agree with these Terms, you must not use FindOfficer.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, or using FindOfficer, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy.
If you are using FindOfficer on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have the authority to bind that organization to these Terms.
2. Description of Service
FindOfficer is a police accountability platform that enables Liberian citizens to:
- Locate law enforcement officers
- Submit applauds for excellent police service
- File complaints about police misconduct
- Track submission status
- Access transparency reports
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use FindOfficer. By using our services, you represent and warrant that:
- You are at least 13 years of age
- You have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms
- You will use the service in compliance with all applicable laws
- All information you provide is accurate and truthful
4. User Responsibilities
Truthful Submissions
You agree to provide accurate, complete, and truthful information when submitting applauds or complaints. False reports may result in account suspension and potential legal consequences.
Prohibited Uses
You may not use FindOfficer to:
- Submit false, misleading, or defamatory information
- Harass, threaten, or intimidate any person
- Interfere with the operation of the service
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems
- Use the service for any illegal purpose
- Submit spam or unsolicited messages
- Impersonate any person or entity
- Violate the privacy rights of others
Content Standards
All submissions must be respectful and professional. We reserve the right to remove content that violates our community standards, including hate speech, explicit content, or abusive language.
5. Applauds and Complaints
Investigation Process
Complaints submitted through FindOfficer are forwarded to the Liberia National Police (LNP) for investigation. We do not conduct investigations ourselves.
No Guarantee of Outcome
While we facilitate the submission of complaints, we cannot guarantee specific outcomes or timelines for investigations. The LNP maintains full discretion in handling complaints.
Anonymous Submissions
You may submit applauds and complaints anonymously. However, anonymous submissions may limit our ability to follow up with you or investigate thoroughly.
Evidence and Documentation
You are responsible for the accuracy and legality of any photos, videos, or documents you upload. Do not upload content that violates privacy laws or copyright.
6. Emergency Disclaimer
IMPORTANT: FindOfficer is NOT an emergency service. Do not use this app to report emergencies or crimes in progress. For immediate assistance, call 911 or the police emergency line at 116.
7. Intellectual Property
Our Rights
FindOfficer™, including all content, features, and functionality, is owned by RoviaGate and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
Your Content
You retain ownership of any content you submit through FindOfficer. However, by submitting content, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, store, and share your content for the purpose of operating our services.
8. Privacy and Data Protection
Your use of FindOfficer is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, and protect your information. Please review our Privacy Policy at findofficer.com/privacy.
9. Disclaimer of Warranties
FindOfficer is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to:
- Merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose
- Accuracy, reliability, or completeness of information
- Uninterrupted or error-free operation
- Security of data transmission
- Results of using the service
10. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, FindOfficer and its affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use or inability to use the service.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless FindOfficer, RoviaGate, and their officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from:
- Your use of the service
- Your violation of these Terms
- Your violation of any rights of another party
- Any content you submit through the service
12. Suspension and Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to FindOfficer at any time, without notice, for:
- Violation of these Terms
- Submission of false or misleading information
- Abuse of the service
- Any conduct that we deem inappropriate or harmful
13. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Liberia, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of FindOfficer shall be resolved in the courts of Liberia.
14. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make changes, we will:
- Update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page
- Notify you through the app or via email (for significant changes)
- Provide reasonable notice before changes take effect
Your continued use of FindOfficer after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
15. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
16. Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and FindOfficer regarding your use of the service and supersede all prior agreements and understandings.
